President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has arrived in the Republic of Albania for a state visit.
A guard of honor was lined up for President Ilham Aliyev at Tirana International Airport decorated with the national flags of the two countries.
The head of state was welcomed by Albanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Belinda Balluku and other officials.
An official welcome ceremony has been held for President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev at the Palace of Brigades in Tirana, the capital of Albania.
A guard of honor was arranged for President Ilham Aliyev at the square decorated with the national flags of Azerbaijan and Albania.

Located at the National Martyrs Cemetery, the 12 meters high “Mother Albania” monument was erected in 1971. The iconic monument portrays Albania as a woman holding a laurel wreath and a star on each hand. On the 3 meter high pedestal, the words “Everlasting glory to the martyrs of the nation” are carved.
The head of state then enjoyed a panoramic view of the city.

During the meeting, the sides hailed the development of the bilateral ties, and noted that an active political dialogue was conducted.
During the conversation, they stressed the importance of Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama's official visit to Azerbaijan this April in terms of expanding the bilateral relations. The sides also exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation in economic and energy areas.
